Now that Captain Blonsky has graduated, I’m off to cash in my deal and fight Magog. Everyone who helped along the way, thank you.

[Private to Arthas]

I believe you’re a good man inside, even if you don’t believe it. I’ve known a lot of good men who’ve made terrible mistakes for what they thought were the right reasons. A lot of them were able to be good men again, and I think you can be, too.

[Private to Lua]

I’m sorry I had to go and turn out to be another guy who thinks with his fists. You’re gorgeous and strong...stronger than people think, maybe even stronger than you think. And I hope you find someone who can let you be strong on your own terms but not require you to be strong because of his own inability to be gentle.

[Private to Iris]

You offered to help me save a universe. Whenever you’re feeling up for it, here are the coordinates where you can find me.

[And he sends her a description of the universe, the year and the day he’ll be returning to, and a description of the Andromeda. With her time ship, he figures that’ll be enough to find him.]

There won’t be any more attacks.

It was me. I accidentally drank some cursed wine. It wasn’t intended for me and it wasn’t intended to cause anyone to die, but that’s what ended up happening anyway. During the day I was myself and at night...I wasn’t. I spent a few days and nights in Zero to make sure that the curse completely cleared my system and that it wouldn’t happen again.

If anyone has any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them.

[Private separately to the Marquis de Carabas, Lisbeth, and Anya. EDIT: And a text version sent to Lua.]

I’m sorry. I know my apology doesn’t make it better or make it go away, but I am so, so sorry about what happened.

[Private to Ben and Arthas separately.]

Thank you for stopping before it was too late and assault became murder.

[Private to Blonsky]

I don’t know if you noticed a new room in your cabin...or...uh...if you have a cabin right now--[He remembers trashing some rooms in the fight, but not which rooms specifically.]--but you’ve graduated.

Congratulations, Captain Blonsky.
I haven’t told many people specifically why I’m here or what sort of universe I come from. Some of you might know a bit about it from Gaheris but...

Cut for Dylan talking at great length. )

[Private to Megamind and Sandoval, separately.]

Mind if I ask you a few things?

[Private to Lua.]

It’s been a rough couple of weeks. I think we could both use a break. Meet me in front of the CES?

[Dylan looks almost exactly the same as when he left. Different clothes, but same haircut, no new lines on his face. The time that passed for him was time that had passed once before; a redo of the timeline, trying a different branch of the tree, as Trance Gemini would put it. And so he lived away for a few years but it still arriving at the same moment he had before--the moment he does *not* succeed in saving the universe *and* all his friends without casualties.]

O-kay. That didn't work. [He says to himself before pushing aside whatever weariness he felt and turning on the communicator.]

Hello. For people who are new, I'm Captain Dylan Hunt of the Commonwealth warship Andromeda Ascendent.

For you guys that already know me, I'm back. Uh...obviously. If someone can fill me in on how long I've been gone and what's happened lately, I'd really appreciate it.

((OOC: Dylan is back from hiatus, and Narvin will be vanishing for canon updating some time today.))

My inmate graduated, and it's high time I went and made use of my deal. [He gives a goofy grin.] My universe isn't just going to save itself.

[Then, more seriously.]

Wardens and inmates both, I hope you get what you need here. A new life. Dreams fulfilled. Those are things worth working for.

Hunt out.

[Private to Ben]

I'm sorry I couldn't stick around to give you more lessons. But my people need me. My crew will die without me. I can't abandon them. Take care of Gaheris for me. He's good at survival, but he needs people to remind him that he's worth more than just his genes. And take care of yourself, too.

[Handwritten note left in Rhade's quarters]

"Friendship is nothing else than an accord in all things, human and divine, conjoined with mutual goodwill and affection, and I am inclined to think that, with the exception of wisdom, no better thing has been given to man by the immortal gods."

Not Nietzsche, but I always kind of liked it. I promised you that I'll see you again someday. And I will.

((OOC: Dylan is hiatused, but not gone. He will be back.))

This is Captain Dylan Hunt, with an announcement and a question.

First the announcement. Cato has fallen into a coma. I'll be watching out for him, but I'm sure he'd appreciate well wishes for a speedy recovery. [Actually, he's not sure Cato would appreciate that, but he's gonna ask for well wishes on Cato's behalf anyway.] I've heard that sometimes people in a coma still have some degree of awareness, so I'm going to visit him every day and I'd love for other people to join me, even if you don't know him very well. [He knows Cato doesn't have many friends, but who says being in a coma prevents you from expanding your social circle?]

And now for the question. I was wondering how many people here have a background in the military? Me, I was Home Guard almost as soon as I got out of school. Then I went into the High Guard, then the officers' academy, and worked my way up the ranks. I've hardly known any other life. The training really changes you, shapes you, no matter what branch you're in. Even retired soldiers still have the mark. I'll probably still be compulsively shining my boots once a week until I'm 110.

[Private to Blonsky.]

Thanks for helping out with the SAR op. We couldn't have done it without you.

I have a friend, his name is Rev Bem. He’s a Magog, which probably doesn’t mean much to most of you, but they’re the race that’s the terror of the three galaxies. Their overwhelming instinct is to either kill and eat every non-Magog they come across, or, if you’re really unlucky, they lay their larvae inside you, which eat your insides and finally rip right out through your abdomen wall to be born. But Rev Bem is different.

He was born Magog, and he lived the same way as the rest of them for a while. But then he decided to change. And his will was so strong that it overcame his upbringing, his instincts, everything. He was the best, wisest, holiest man I’ve ever known.

Rev Bem is short for Reverend Behemial. He became a respected Wayist.

That’s why I believe in redemption. If someone like that that change, someone who was born from death and in every way designed by nature to kill others...if a Magog, the most aggressive and vicious and bloodthirsty race, can become a Wayist priest I figure there’s hope for everyone.

[He grins. He’s been affected by the mistletoe. And though he believes everything he just said, the mistletoe inspires him to tell everyone about it right now.]

I love this time of year.

Hey, anyone up for a trivia-night in the bar?

[Dylan is looking particularly captain-y for this post. He doesn’t know who might see this post (it could be the Vedran Empress for all he knows), so it’s by-the-books and formal. Rhade is behind him and to the side. If someone from his own time replies, he can always say that it’s Telemachus Rhade with him. There are only a few people—Beka, Trance, Harper, Rev Bem—whom he might trust enough to try to explain what he’s doing with a dead traitor.

And if Telemachus himself replies…well, he’ll deal with that if it becomes necessary.]

This is Captain Dylan Hunt of the Commonwealth starship Andromeda Ascendant. If you can hear this message, please respond.

[OOC: Joint post for Dylan and Rhade.]

My name is Captain Dylan Hunt of the Commonwealth starship Andromeda Ascendant. [After the military-ingrained formality is over with, he smiles.] But since there's no Commonwealth here, and no starship, just call me Dylan.

The introductory information the Admiral gave me was a bit thin. So if any of you can bring me up to speed, I'd appreciate it.

[He's read the network a very little bit and walked around the ship some, so he has a hint of what the Barge is like. But picking out information like that isn't the same as hearing about things directly from other people. Besides, it's an excuse to get to know the personalities of the crew on the starship Redemption Or Bust or whatever the ship is called.]

[ADDED--Private to Rhade, Text.]

I heard you were on board. We should talk.
